Manchester City made a move for Paris Saint-Germain rising star Warren Zaire-Emery in the summer, ahead of his breakthrough season in France.
That’s according to France Télévision, relayed by Foot Mercato, who say Manchester City turned their interest towards the highly rated youngster but saw a bid rejected outright.
They explain that everyone ‘has only been talking’ about Zaire-Emery for several weeks as continues to star in the middle of Luis Enrique’s team.
His performances have been ‘shocking’ given his age, earning him attention from all around Europe and a call-up into the senior France side.
He’s not the only one to have noticed the potential of the 17-year-old and Manchester City are now showing an interest in him.
According to information from France Télévision, Pep Guardiola’s side had ‘drawn up’ an offer worth €60m for the youngster during the summer transfer window.
This offer was quickly rejected by PSG owner Nasser al-Khelaïfi as he did not want to lose what he considered to be a star of the future.
That was seemingly the right decision to make as the youngster now shines for PSG and gets ready to make his debut for France after a superb start to the season under Luis Enrique.
