For someone arriving for a relatively hefty fee of £7m for a club like Watford, Nordin Amrabat hasn’t exactly set the Premier League on fire.

Making 21 appearances under Walter Mazzarri this season, the 30-year-old has only picked up three assists, which is certainly a poorer return than many expected from the Morocco international.

Despite the statistics, Amrabat continues to either start or come off the bench at Vicarage Road, showing the Italian manager’s trust in his ability.

Perhaps it’s all the hard work he puts in, as he explained to FIFA.com that it’s this mind set that has allowed him to succeed as a professional throughout his life.

He said: “Whether you’re playing amateur football, doing the dishes or in a Champions League game, you have to always be 100% focused on what you’re doing. That’s a rule I never break.”

Now trying to help Morocco qualify for the 2018 World Cup, the forward explained he was ‘very happy’ at the club after signing for Watford from Malaga last January, and was enjoying playing a ‘good level’ in a ‘very competitive league’.

Considering his rather unorthodox career, going from Holland to Spain and then Turkey before settling in England, it seems Amrabat is just enjoying having some stability in his life, which he appears to have found just northwest of London.
