Fulham ‘would have been prepared’ to pay the €15m to sign Serhou Guirassy from VfB Stuttgart as they looked to sign him as a replacement for Aleksandr Mitrovic.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who back up reports that Fulham were interested in the striker but put a price tag on the operation.
A report last month made it clear that Fulham had targeted Guirassy but failed to strike an agreement with Stuttgart for him late in the window.
The problem, it seems, was the player who ‘refused’ the offer and wanted to stay with the German side. His family is happy where they are, and he is appreciative of the ‘enormous appreciation’ from all sections at the club.
He’s now rewarding that faith with goals, with a tally of eight league goals from the first four league games meaning he is the most lethal striker in Europe.
He’s topping the charts ahead of serious competition and is currently ‘more successful’ than Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. The fact he has also scored from just eight shots, therefore enjoying a 100% success rate, makes it all the more impressive.
That ‘pure efficiency’ is unlikely to have gone unnoticed, particularly at Fulham, who could do with a striker like that after losing Mitrovic.
