Yerry Mina’s long injury problems appear to have followed him from Everton, with the defender facing another lay off after getting injured on international duty.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who cover the defender today and Mina’s latest setback on the long list of injury worries.
The Colombian defender departed Everton on a free transfer this summer after returning towards the end of last season to aid their fight against relegation.
He’s yet to feature for the Serie A side as he works his way to full fitness, with them taking the smart approach of easing him into things.
What they can’t help avoid is injuries on international duty, though, and lo and behold Mina has picked up a problem while with Colombia.
TMW report that the defender picked up a muscle injury in the 0-0 clash with Chile last night that forced him off in the 22nd minute of the game.
They say the former Everton man left the pitch ‘practically in tears’, which suggests the latest problem is not a trivial one, with initial fears it could be a strain.
He’s now set to return to Italy in the next few days for investigations and evaluations before a timescale is put on his return.
