Spain’s Mundo Deportivo has come up with a strong story today explaining the reasons why Eden Hazard is not ready to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid.
Despite the many rumours linking the Belgian star to the Galacticos, it’s claimed Hazard is far from having an agreement to move. Real Madrid are said to have the money to pay the player’s high wages, but it’s not all about money for Hazard.
First, Hazard is the number one at Chelsea. He’s pretty aware of that, and knows that at Madrid he would have to compete with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.
There’s also Chelsea’s will not to let him go. It’s claimed that people close to Marina Granovskaia have confirmed she doesn’t even want to hear things about Hazard leaving. Granovskaia reportedly only wants to strengthen, and has the total backing of Roman Abramovich to help Antonio Conte improve his squad.
Hazard is said to have been Zinedine Zidane’s desire for a long time, as the manager knows him since his youth years at Lille. However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez would be aiming for other targets. He’d rather have Paulo Dybala at the club, who would also be easier to sign, at least so say Mundo Deportivo.
Juventus are interested in several Real Madrid players who could be used in a swap, including Isco, Mateo Kovacic, Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez.
Chelsea, on the other hand, only want Alvaro Morata, a Conte target. So besides having to pay more for Hazard, Madrid would have less to offer in a deal.
It’s worth remembering that as a Catalan outlet, Mundo Deportivo are always winding up Real Madrid, it’s a source we’re always careful to believe when the subject is their rival city.
