Southampton striker Paul Onuachu is on his way to Turkey, according to local reports.
Outlet 61Saat today reports that Trabzonspor have now ‘reached an agreement’ to sign the 29-year-old.
The Süper Lig side have just found a deal to get Nicolas Pepe from Arsenal, and now continue with their work in England by landing Onuachu from Southampton
The talks seem to have had some influence from the Saints owners, who also boast second-tier Turkish club Göztepe as well.
According to the story, Trabzonspor are now set to send a player to Goztepe, and that’s related to the deal they found with Southampton for the signing of Onuachu.
It was in January this year that the St. Mary’s side spent €18m to sign Onuachu from KRC Genk.
In his time at the English club, though, he didn’t score any goals in any of his 11 appearances, and could do little to help them to escape from the relegation to the Championship.
With him now firmly out of the plans at St Mary’s, Southampton appear to have decided to let him go, and we shall soon see more details of this deal with Trabzonspor.
