It now seems it’s just a matter of time until Issahaku Fatawu is confirmed as Leicester City’s newest signing.
The latest update from the Portuguese media comes from Record, who claims there’s an agreement for the player to join the Foxes on a season-long loan.
The outlet writes that Fatawu did not train with Sporting’s squad on Friday, and has the ‘green light’ to travel to England for his medical with Leicester City.
According to Record, the Foxes will pay for the winger’s entire wages during the loan period, and at the end of the season, they’ll have the chance to buy him for €15m.
On Friday morning, it had been claimed by the Portuguese media that Sporting were waiting to see if Crystal Palace would outbid Leicester City in the race for Fatawu, but it seems that did not happen.
Fatawu, who turned 19 in March, wasn’t expected to have a place in Sporting’s squad this season, and has been looking for a way out of the club.
He was promoted to their first team last summer, and only has 12 appearances for the Lions.
