Earlier on Thursday, we covered an article from the Italian media claiming that Piero Ausilio, Inter Milan’s director of football, had flown into London to try and sort out a deal with Manchester United for André Onana.

The Red Devils have targeted the Cameroon international to replace David De Gea, who left the club on a free after his contract expired, but have also been reluctant to meet the Serie A side’s asking price.

That’s why these prospective talks were exciting, especially with a belief that a deal could be struck before the weekend, but Calciomercato.it suggest Manchester United are still taking their time.

Despite claiming that contacts between the two sides ‘have intensified since the morning’, there has yet to be an official offer from the Old Trafford side.

Inter are still waiting for Manchester United to increase their bid ‘to reach the white smoke’, even if there is a ‘strong’ desire from everyone to get a deal done ‘by the weekend’.

Therefore, it seems that whatever the Red Devils have planned, they are confident it will be accepted, with everything else seemingly already sorted for it to be done quickly once the green light is given.
