On May 29th, Olé in Argentina explained that Liverpool are waiting for Brighton & Hove Albion star Alexis Mac Allister.
After the Seagulls’ final game of the season, Roberto De Zerbi admitted the midfielder could leave Brighton in the summer. The Reds have been pushed forward as his next destination.
Infobae had a chat with the Brighton player and specifically asked for his thoughts on the latest claims that he’s ‘one step away’ from joining Liverpool.
Responding to that, he said: “I am very calm because I also have the possibility to be at a club like Brighton that accompanied me at all times and in which I enjoy being there, if I don’t have to leave the club, I will continue to be very happy there, but I’m aware that there will be possibilities and if a good offer comes for the club and for me, we’ll evaluate it.”
Brighton agreed a deal with Argentinos Juniors for the 24-year-old in January 2019 and he arrived at The Amex later that year. He has established himself in the Premier League, which has not only helped him represent Argentina but also win the World Cup with them.
He was asked to give his ‘assessment’ of the Premier League and when responding to it, the player gave encouragement for Liverpool.
“I have no doubt that today it’s the best league to play in and that is why I am aware that I would like my next club to be in the Premier League,” Mac Allister explained.
“I really enjoy being there and the truth is that people have always treated me as 10 in the country and that is very important to me.”
With the Brighton manager and now the Argentina international publicly opening the door for his transfer, there’s a good possibility for Mac Allister to end up at Liverpool.
