Eintracht Frankfurt director of football Markus Krösche has insisted nobody has approached the club regarding Randal Kolo Muani as of yet despite reports Manchester United are intensifying their efforts to sign the striker.

The Frankfurt chief has been speaking to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in Germany regarding the forward ahead of a summer in which several big sides in Europe are likely to be chasing his signature.

Muani is one of the revelations of the season, scoring 23 goals and registering 17 assists in 45 games in all competitions.

He also played a role for France in their run to the World Cup final, further boosting his profile and the developing interest in him.

Manchester United are believed to be one of those ready to make a move for him, with Erik ten Hag keen to add to his forward line this summer after watching his side struggle in that department all season.

Numerous reports have linked them with a move for Kolo Muani as a result and claims in England today have stated that they will be intensifying their efforts to get a deal over the line.

Krösche, though, has seemingly poured cold water on those suggestions, insisting neither Manchester United nor anyone else have come forward as yet.

“There may already be one or two interested parties. But so far there has been no one who has approached us, it is all speculation so far. We don’t have to sell him,” he said.

“Sure, we also have to work out transfer fees – but we don’t have our backs to the wall. On the contrary, we have built up a good economic starting position thanks to our successes after Corona.

“At some point, sums will be on the table that it would be irresponsible not to think about.

“I’m not putting him on the market, and I don’t want to transfer him. My goal is that Randal stays with us.”
