On Thursday morning, several Portuguese newspapers shared the news about Tottenham Hotspur’s failed attempt for the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting.
It was claimed that Spurs wanted to give up their 50% share on Marcus Edwards to get a discount for the fullback. But the Lions, who continue to demand €45m for the Spaniard, didn’t accept that.
It turns out that as A Bola writes about this case, they claim Tottenham are expected to give up on Porro now.
It’s said that since that attempt was turned down, there were no new contacts, and there’s the expectation that they won’t try again in the January window.
Given Sporting are only letting Porro go if the release clause is triggered, they keep alert about the situation, knowing that can happen until the end of the month. Still, there’s no belief Tottenham will do that.
