West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyaté has told the Belgian media his international teammate Kara Mbodji will eventually end up in England. The Anderlecht defender has been promised a move in the summer should the right offer come, and the player has been linked with the Hammers in the past.
“He has all the requirements of a defender. Anderlecht previously asked my view about Kara’s qualities. I said recruit him. I’m sorry for the fans, but Kara will not stay long. In terms of physique he reminds me of Kompany. He will be taken to England,” said the West Ham player.
Earlier today we covered reports West Ham were keen to sign Mdodj when he was playing with Jupiler side Genk. At the time the Belgian side wanted €1.5m, but this shot up after an impressive African Cup of Nations with Senegal.
However, with the player being promised a move to the Premier League this summer it won’t come as a surprise if West Ham again show an interest.
