Following the many rumours regarding the future of Vasco da Gama target Andrey Santos, we now see Everton being added to the fight for his signing.
That’s something reported by Brazilian journalist Lucas Pedrosa, who comes up with an update saying that despite recent stories, the player is ‘not sold’ yet, with no ‘official negotiation’ open so far.
What is said is that three Premier League clubs have been in ‘frequent contact’ with the midfielder’s staff.
Everton are one of them, along with Chelsea and Newcastle, whose interest had already been reported by the Italian media.
Pedrosa claims ‘everything will be evaluated’ in case an actual offer is made, as Andrey’s departure from Vasco will depend on how much the European sides have to put on the table.
The journalist makes it very clear that no official bids have been placed so far.
Andrey is one of the most promising talents in Brazil and is currently protected by a €40m release clause.
Even though reports had been speaking of advanced talks with Chelsea and Newcastle, it’s interesting to see Everton seemingly joining this competition to land him, especially when you take into account how much it could take to prise him away.
