Arsenal have been trying to ‘strengthen’ their relationship with Palmeiras’ leadership in an attempt to secure a deal for midfielder Danilo.
That’s according to Bolavip, who say the Gunners have already seen several offers rejected by the Brazilian club.
Danilo has established himself as one of the rising stars in Brazilian football with his performances for Palmeiras, who know that he will be sold to Europe ‘sooner or later’.
Arsenal are the club who have been linked most strongly, with the last few months seeing a slew of reports regarding bids from the Emirates.
This has been continually denied in Brazil, where Palmeiras are insistent that any reports of a bid are wide of the mark and that the player is no closer to Arsenal than any other club.
It seems that the Gunners are not giving up, though, and Bolavip now say they are working to ‘strengthen the relationship with the Palmeiras management’ in order to sign the player.
So far that has not worked as all of their bids have been rejected, but they are working in the background nonetheless.
Whether they can build a good enough relationship with the Brazilian side to convince them to sell remains to be seen, but given it was claimed earlier this month that a bid was coming in the next few months, it may not be a bad strategy to employ.
