Here we are, in the final week of the transfer window, and Hector Bellerin still hasn’t been able to seal his departure from Arsenal.
Despite the fullback’s strong wish of completing a permanent move to Real Betis, the La Liga side still couldn’t make his arrival possible, and the situation remains unpredictable in these last few days of the market.
Estadio Deportivo today features a story in which they claim Bellerin’s agents continue to ‘wait for events’. It’s said that, at least for now, there’s ‘nothing new’ between Betis and Arsenal.
The report points out three potential scenarios for him. The first of them is obviously the move to the Seville side, even though they’d still need to get rid of some players to make the operation possible.
The second is a move to Barcelona, which is becoming quite unlikely, since Xavi has enough players in the squad, and in case of new reinforcements, there are other names on the list before Bellerin.
Then Estadio Deportivo points out a new and surprising option, which is becoming a free agent. They say the 27-year-old could rescind his contract with Arsenal, and therefore not depend on the transfer deadline to sign for Betis on a free deal.
That, however, sounds like a risky option, as the Spanish club would still need work on their accounts to make the signing possible, and they haven’t been able to do it during the whole summer.
