As Arsenal and Manchester United continue to be heavily linked to Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, we now get interesting updates from Argentina regarding the player’s current situation.
Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo shows up to say that the 24-year-old has ‘informed’ his both his club’s manager and board that his desire is to move to a Premier League side this summer.
According to the report, Martinez is currently ‘with Manchester United and Arsenal offers’ worth €45m, and is now trying to ‘twist’ Ajax’s decision of keeping him for another season.
The journalist doesn’t bring any details on whether it’s the Gunners or the Red Devils who are leading the race for the defender for now.

Earlier today, we saw Dutch outlet De Telegraaf claiming Martinez indeed wants to leave Ajax this summer, and despite their wish of keeping him, they’re likely to ‘cooperate’ with his sale, and demand €50m to let him go.
Both De Telegraaf and Algemeen Dagblad have been highlighting the interest from Manchester United, who reportedly made a bid worth €45m, although Arsenal have been strongly linked to the player as well.
