Manchester United and Arsenal have recently been in contact with Paulo Dybala’s agent to understand the situation around the Argentine.
That’s according to FC Inter News, who say the Premier League duo ‘called’ his agent to discuss the forward.
Dybala is currently a free agent, having officially left Juventus today after they decided not to renew his contract last month.
He is widely expected to stay in Italy, with Inter keen on signing him and working on a deal for weeks.
Despite him being available on a free transfer, though, it is proving difficult for them to get over the line, particularly after they brought Romelu Lukaku back to the club on loan.
That leaves Dybala available for other clubs, and it seems Arsenal and Manchester United have ‘called the agent’ in recent days to ‘understand the situation’ with Inter.
In other words, they’ve both called his agent to find out if the deal with Inter is going anywhere or if there is a chance for them to muscle in.
Arsenal’s interest is nothing new, with it reported earlier this year they had struck an agreement with Dybala about a move.
That, though, was dependent on them getting Champions League football, which ultimately they didn’t.
Manchester United have not been as heavily linked, but they have made an offer to Christian Eriksen, another creative midfielder available on a free transfer, so it suggests that’s an area they are interested in strengthening.
As FC Inter News make clear, these calls were nothing short of exploratory ones, but it seems the interest is there, and this could be something to keep an eye on if the move to Inter isn’t finalised quickly.
