There is a growing ‘uneasiness’ at Sevilla about the situation around Jules Koundé and Chelsea’s failure to make a serious move for him.
That’s according to Marca, who say there is ‘still no call’ from Stamford Bridge regarding the defender despite their interest in him being clear.
The newspaper explains here is a ‘growing unease’ at the Sánchez-Pizjuán due to the lack of news about the centre-back.
While Sevilla know that is agent is attempting to move him on, and they have made it clear they would be happy to sell, nothing is progressing.
Indeed, the only thing they have heard is how Chelsea are moving for other targets, with Nathan Ake, Matthijs de Ligt and Kalidou Koulibaly heavily linked in recent days.
These moves have only helped to ‘increase the unease’ at Sevilla, who are fearful a transfer may not happen. That is worrying for them as the sale of Koundé is ‘essential’ to their plans for next season.
Chelsea’s path towards other targets now only ‘generates uncertainty and unease’ that this summer could further slow down an already restrained Sevilla.
There is also frustration as they are happy to sell, and Koundé has shown an ‘absolute predisposition’ to move on.
His only wish is to join a big club as soon as possible, and the expectation had been this summer would be a short one in terms of negotiating a move away.
That has not proven to be the case, though, with Chelsea failing to make a bid as yet and no other clubs showing a desire to match Sevilla’s €65m asking price.
