Leeds United are set to provide competition to AC Milan to sign Club Brugge star Charles De Ketelaere, according to multiple claims from Italy.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a good season with the Jupiler Pro League side, managing 18 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, as his side won the title.

De Ketelaere’s displays have caught the attention of several sides, with Leeds now joining the list of clubs.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio provided an update on the versatile forward during Sky Italia’s Calciomercato – L’Originale, relayed by Radio Rossonera.

According to Di Marzio, the Serie A winners are in contact with the Belgium international’s agent. However, Milan will face a lot of competition, and one of them could be from Jesse Marsch’s side since ‘there is also Leeds’ in the picture to sign the player.

Another Italian journalist, Luca Marchetti, writing in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb, also states the Rossoneri want to take him. However, Leeds ‘swoop to mess up’ Milan’s plans to sign De Ketelaere.

Last month, Het Laatste Nieuws explained that Club Brugge will request €35m to let the player leave them this summer. If Leeds, Milan or another club want De Ketelaere, they have to make an offer around that region, after convincing the Belgian.
