Three days ago, Sport reported that Arsenal want Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio at all costs.

With a deal expiring in 2023, the winger doesn’t see the option to renew clearly since the La Liga winners are offering him the same salary as he is currently earning. Therefore, the 26-year-old could be one of the players to leave Los Blancos.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who add Asensio and his agent, Jorge Mendes, are set to meet Real Madrid to talk about his future.

The Spain international could either continue and leave for free in 2023 or be sold this summer. This has alerted several European clubs, including the Gunners.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are the Premier League sides most attentive to the player, who is valued at €40m by Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Out of these three, the north London club are the one to have him as their ‘great objective’ in the ongoing window.

Mikel Arteta is keen to have his compatriot at the Emirates and has informed the club’s leaders. Due to this, Arsenal are ‘going to go all out’ to secure the player’s services.

There have been rumours of the Gunners being willing to pay €77m, which is much higher than the €40m fee requested by Real Madrid, so that seems unlikely.

For now, as per Mundo, the Spaniard could leave Real Madrid. Arsenal are keen to sign him because of their manager, as Arteta wants the attacker and has made it known to the club’s leaders.
