Over the past week there’s been multiple reports from Italy on Thomas Strakosha potentially swapping Lazio for Fulham in the coming weeks.
Some of those reports were quite confident regarding Fulham’s chances of getting the goalkeeper, who will be available as a free agent.
Friday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport has things a little different, and rather than the player joining Marco Silva’s side, they feel he’ll be off to Newcastle United instead.
Lazio face Verona at home on Saturday, in what will be the club’s last game of the season. The Italian newspaper says that’s when Strakosha will say goodbye to Rome, although it’s not known whether he’ll actually play.
The 27-year-old is described as being ‘ready for Newcastle’, and there’s no mention of Fulham in the report.
Eddie Howe’s side have been repeatedly linked with Manchester United’s Dean Henderson this week, and it’s not clear whether the Lazio man would be an alternative to him or in addition to that signing.
Of course, Corriere dello Sport could be wrong and the coming days should clear things up.
