Aaron Hickey has spent much of the past two months being linked with a move to Arsenal, with Brentford being dragged into the story in recent days.
The Gunners claims have been frequent and this week has even seen reports suggesting the move is simply a matter of time, and the fullback is set to move to Mikel Arteta’s side for a fee of not much more than €20m.
That has gone a little quiet over the past 24 hours or so, and it could be due to Brentford entering the picture.
La Repubblica report Brentford are ready to ‘immediately submit an offer’ worth around €18m for Hickey, clearly looking to get a quick deal done so they can beat competition from the Premier League and elsewhere for the Bologna man.
However, according to the Italian report, the €18m figure is too low for Bologna, and the Serie A side would instead be looking for something higher than €20m, and seem quite confident they can get it.
