Lazio striker Verdat Muqiri is ‘one step away’ from leaving Lazio, and Leeds United remain in the race for his signature.
That’s according to Calciomercato, citing Il Messaggero, who say today’s clash with Atalanta could be the Kosovan striker’s final game with the Biancoceleste.
Reports this week have indicated that Muqiri is on his way out of the Italian side, who are keen to sell him to raise funds and conduct their own business this month.
Leeds have been named among his suitors, with them needing competition for Patrick Bamford, who has struggled with injuries this season.
Il Messaggero now back that up, stating that Leeds and West Bromwich Albion are interested in the player in England while Fenerbache are also keen.
There has also ‘been interest’ from France in the ‘last few hours’, although they don’t name the interested club or clubs.
Either way, Leeds are in the picture for the striker who is very much on the way out by the sounds of things.
At the moment, negotiations are being held for a loan deal with the right to buy included, with it stated these talks are ‘in the final stages’.
Whether they’re with Leeds or Elland Road will be his next destination, remains to be seen as currently, his destination is ‘top secret’.
