Manchester United are ‘interested’ in IF Brommapojkarna youngster Lucas Bergvall, as per FotbollDirekt.
The 15-year-old made his first team debut in November, towards the end of league season in Sweden.
Since then, the young midfielder has been in the sights of clubs in his own country and across Europe.
The Red Devils are included as the report says the Sweden U16 international is considered by ‘many as the country’s most exciting in his age group’. He has ended up catching the attention of the Premier League side.
Sergio De Souza, Manchester United’s Scandinavian scout, has watched the youngster in action on ‘several occasions’. He has offered Bergvall a trial at the club, which is set to take place in February.
Apart from United, Swedish side AIK are also credited with interest in Bergvall. Brommapojkarna sporting director Peter Kisfaludy, however, has refused to confirm their interest.
“I do not want to comment on which clubs it is about, but I can say so much that the interest in him is incredibly great. I cannot comment on that. In that case, you can talk to AIK about it,” Kisfaludy said.
FotbollDirekt state the price will be ‘very high’, around SEK 15-20m [€1.4-19m], to let the teenager join a club like Manchester United.
Last November, after Bergvall made first team debut for Brommapojkarna, Kisfaludy mentioned United and a few other European clubs.
“You have to remember that Lucas has been to Manchester United, Juventus, Bayern Munich,” Kisfaludy told FotbollDirekt a few months ago.
