‘White smoke’ has been reached on a deal which will see Pablo Mari move from Arsenal to Udinese this month.
The term ‘white smoke’ relates to when a new Pope is elected, and when white smoke is seen coming from the Sistine Chapel, it means the final decision has been made.
Therefore, Mari to Udinese is seen as pretty much a done deal, report TMW.
Arsenal have reached an agreement with the Serie A side which will see Mari join Udinese on loan for the rest of the current season. The loan will be a ‘dry’ one, which means there’s no clause which could lead to a permanent move for the defender.
Mari has been linked with multiple clubs this month as he looked for a move away from the Gunners, where he’s not really in the picture under Mikel Arteta. Udinese had been looking for a defensive signing, so the two situations fit nicely together.
Gianluca Di Marzio is also reporting the move, and it’s from him that the details of the loan come.
