Anthony Martial has been linked with several clubs since his agent revealed the forward wants to leave Manchester United in the winter market.
Sevilla have become the latest club to emerge as a candidate for the forward and Tuesday saw reports in England, France and Spain discuss the possibility of the deal taking shape next month.
After Sky Sports claimed the 26-year-old prefers a move to the La Liga side over other clubs, RMC Sport journalist Loic Tanzi then explained the ‘negotiations are progressing’ for him to leave the Red Devils.
Another report from RMC Sport yesterday stated Julen Lopetegui’s side have ‘positioned’ themselves for a deal and the France international is ‘attracted’ by the proposition of a loan move to Andalusia.
With various claims of the Spanish club’s interest in the United attacker, it was no surprise to see Sevilla sporting director Monchi quizzed about the latest reports on Martial, after his side settled for a 1-1 draw against Barcelona on Tuesday.
“We will do what we can, I speak with Julen Lopetegui every day and he knows what we are working on,” Monchi was quoted as saying by Estadio Deportivo.
When Movistar + journalist Mónica Marchante specifically asked about Martial, Monchi said: “I have found out through social networks, we will have to ask the one who has published it… I know him from before he signed for Manchester [United].”
“We are going to see how it ends today, the Africa Cup of Nations [possibility of it being cancelled or postponed] and from there we will see what we can work on.”
