Earlier this month, a story emerged in France that Burnley were fairly clear in their intent to sign Angelo Fulgini from Angers SCO.
It was reported the Clarets were ‘ready to put €15m on the table’ for the former France U21 international, wanting a repeat of the good deal they pulled off when bringing Maxwel Cornet from Lyon.
Foot Mercato, who were the ones who revealed the news, claimed Angers would ‘look favourably’ on a bid of that amount, and that’s since been confirmed by the Ligue 1 side’s president.
Speaking to Ouest-France at the weekend, Saïd Chabane was asked a number of questions about his current squad, including whether Fulgini had an exit pass.
The answer? In short, yes.
He said: “He’s working on the pitch. There’s interest from a certain number of clubs, but there’s nothing concrete for now. My position hasn’t changed for him. We are asking for the same amount (€15m)”.
