Manchester City ‘dream’ of bringing Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic to the club amid his ongoing contract wrangle with the Italian side.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who cover the situation around the highly-rated young striker today.
They explain that Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso is ‘angry’ with Vlahovic’s agent after months of trying to get the player signed to a new deal.
He is working hard not to side against the young striker and would love to keep him, but a recent outburst in which he openly admitted he was angry with the agent has made the situation more tense than before.
Fortunately for the president, he has found himself backed by Florence and the fans, with a large percentage backing the stance he is taking with the Serbian and his agent.
Having said that, starting a ‘verbal war’ against the player is not considered a great idea and so making his agent the ‘common enemy’ seems to be the strategy.
As a result, Darko Ristic has found himself trending on social media, and it’s fair to say the majority of comments are not positive.
This has now led to Vlahovic being deluged with comments on social media urging him to sign a new deal and avoid the interest being shown in him by the likes of Manchester City.
Whether that’s made a difference isn’t known but it is clear the suitors are lining up, with City fans, as well as those from Juventus and Milan, all there urging him to sign for them instead.
As far as they’re concerned, a striker whose contract expires in 2023 ‘opens up the dream drawer’, and Manchester City are dreaming, according to the newspaper.
