Earlier today, we covered claims from Mundo Deportivo regarding Tottenham and Ilaix Moriba.
Barcelona and Spurs were said to be close to an agreement, which would see the midfielder move for €15m plus more in potential bonuses. The problem in the way of a deal was presented as the player’s entourage, who already had an agreement with RB Leipzig.
On top of that, it was made clear Tottenham wouldn’t be paying crazy commissions to try and get a deal done.
Sport, the other newspaper which focuses on Barcelona, have their own take and whilst much of it is similar they kick things along a little further.
The €15m plus bonuses figure is backed up, and it’s then stated there’s hope Moriba can break a ‘pre-agreement’ he has with RB Leipzig. Should that agreement be related to next summer then it shouldn’t be too hard breaking it, given the Bundesliga side shouldn’t have entered into it anyway.
Leipzig considered a move for this summer, but their €8m offer was deemed far too low.
Tottenham are now said to be talking to the player’s agents, to convince them over a move to the Premier League club in the coming days.
Moriba himself is pushing his entourage to sort out a move for this window, because he doesn’t want to spend the season banished at Barcelona.
