Having already made one offer for Lautaro Martinez, Tottenham could come back for another attempt.
That’s according to the Italian media, who are currently following the Argentine’s future very closely following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.
The Serie A side broke a promise made to their fans after the sale of Achraf Hakimi that they wouldn’t be selling anymore big names, and the trust between club and supporters has worn thin.
That’s why keeping hold of Martinez is key, but Tottenham’s advances to sign him as a potential replacement for Harry Kane aren’t helping.
Sky Italia, relayed by FC Inter 1908, claim that ‘Tottenham could come forward again with an important offer’ for the striker, but the Italians ‘don’t want to deprive Inzaghi of another top player’.
That’s why a meeting is set to take place in the next few days between Inter and Martinez’s agent to discuss a renewal, and ‘the idea right now is to not sell Martinez’.
Let’s see what happens if Paratici opens his chequebook a little further, though.
