AS Roma have found an agreement with Chelsea to sign Tammy Abraham, but are facing competition from Arsenal to secure his services.
Tiago Pinto, the Serie A side’s sporting director made a trip to London, where he was to have a ‘decisive’ meeting on Thursday with both the Blues and the 23-year-old’s agent.
Sky Italia again stress the Giallorossi have reached an agreement with Thomas Tuchel’s side for a loan deal with redemption obligation of €40m.
They have to ‘convince’ the striker to get the deal over the line and José Mourinho’s side, as of now, haven’t managed to do that because he has a ‘proposal on the table from Arsenal’.
Abraham, who wants to stay in London, ‘evaluates’ the offer made by the Gunners, while he’s not unenthusiastic to Roma’s proposal and the possibility of playing under Mourinho.
This has convinced Pinto to push for his signing, which is why a ‘new meeting’ is set to take place between the Roma chief and the player’s agent on Friday.
Pinto plans to stay in the English capital until the frontman gives a definite answer and if he decides against joining Roma, the director will look at other options his side are currently evaluating.
