Recent days have seen claims regarding the future of Palhinha come back into the picture.
The midfielder performed very well when given 45 minutes by Portugal against France and that’s encouraged transfer rumours. Should he get more appearances, and continue to play well, in Euro 2020 then those claims will surely rise.
Tottenham were linked by the Portuguese media on Friday, and Saturday’s edition of Record again presents Spurs as an interested party. Everton also get a mention, although it was stated yesterday that the player isn’t a priority signing for the Toffees.
Record say a Sporting source has told them that the player will only leave for his release clause, which is put at €60m by today’s newspaper.
That seems just a negotiating stance, because if a club offered €40-50m for Palhinha, it’s hard to see the Lisbon side turning it down.
Indeed, he may be available for even less, and Spurs would surely go in at a lower amount if they’re to turn their interest into something concrete.
