Claims continue in the Portuguese media regarding Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos potentially moving to FC Porto this summer.

Saturday’s edition of Record states that Friday claims of Morelos not wanting a move to Porto have ‘no correspondence to the truth’. They point out the Rangers player’s agent has been in contact with the Portuguese club, which he wouldn’t have done if there was no interest.

According to the report, whilst Morelos would prefer to swap Rangers for the Premier League, he’s also tempted by a move to Porto because he knows other Colombians have made their name in Portugal and gone on to huge success after that.

Swapping Steven Gerrard’s side for Porto, rather than a mid table or lower Premier League club, would also give Morelos the chance to play in the Champions League and fight for titles.

Porto’s problem is presented as the money involved, as was always going to be the case.

Record believe Rangers want €16m and the Liga NOS side have no intention of paying such a sum, unless they sell some of their own players first.
