Paulo Fonseca’s talks to take charge of Tottenham Hotspur are now confirmed by Portuguese newspapers as well.
A few local outlets say the former Roma boss is indeed in advanced negotiations with the London side, and should soon be announced by the club.
Starting with A Bola, the newspaper claims that only details are left for a full agreement. They say Fonseca has recently met Daniel Levy to ‘discuss the contract and other more practical subjects related to the coming season’.
It’s stated that the official announcement should be made next week, after Fabio Paratici is confirmed as the club’s new sporting director.
Meanwhile, newspaper O Jogo claims to have managed to ‘confirm’ the report which was first made by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The outlet writes that the negotiations are ‘well forwarded’ and an agreement could be reached in ‘little time’. It’s said Fonseca had other offers, including from Russia, but had been waiting for a better opportunity.
It’s said a ‘mid term’ contract, probably of three years, should be agreed in the coming hours, as his dream of working in the Premier League is ‘one step’ from being real.
