Cengiz Ünder has played less than 1000 minutes in all competitions for Leicester City and has managed two goals and three assists this season.

The Foxes initially had an obligation to make his stay permanent for €23m, but it’s now been converted into an option to buy, according to Calciomercato.

There’s a ‘redemption alarm’ for the Serie A side as the 23-year-old hasn’t convinced Leicester and they are reflecting on whether or not to exercise the option to buy the Turkey international.

Fotomaç have also backed Calciomercato’s report as they explain Brendan Rodgers’ side aren’t planning to extend the player’s stay at the club.

The wideman couldn’t enjoy regular minutes in England and the Premier League side, who aren’t satisfied with him, have informed Roma they will not make his transfer permanent.

He has now emerged as a target for Fenerbahçe. Roma are not planning to include Ünder in their plans next season and this has prompted the Turkish club, who ‘wanted him the most’.

Emre Belözoğlu, the Süper Lig side’s sporting director [and interim manager] is in ‘constant contact’ with Ünder’s representatives, Erman Akyüz and Serhat Balci, as he ‘dreams’ of having the attacker at Fenerbahçe.

It’s not known whether Ünder would be in favour of returning to his country, but what seems certain as per the reports is that he will not be at Leicester next season.
