Long-linked with an exit from Marseille, Boubacar Kamara, against many odds, remains in the south of France for the time being.
Settled and happy with the Ligue 1 club, the defender turned defensive midfielder is widely expected to leave at some point in his career, and Liverpool could be his next destination.
That is, at least, what Calciomercato write on Tuesday in a very short article on their website, claiming the Reds have ‘cast their eyes’ on the 21-year-old, who is now a key member of what will soon be Jorge Sampaoli’s squad.
That’s because the player’s contract at Marseille currently runs out in 2022, meaning a decision will soon need to be made whether or not to sell him if no renewal is agreed by then.
This could play into Liverpool’s hands, if they really are interested, but only time will tell whether or not Kamara is in Jürgen Klopp’s plans going forward following their January interest in Duje Caleta-Car.
Either way, we’ll be keeping an eye on things, as the stories surrounding the player’s future are likely to heat up in the coming weeks and months.
