Gylfi Sigurdsson is the best player at Swansea City, according to the club’s former manager Francesco Guidolin.
Speaking to the Italian media, Guidolin was asked various questions about the Premier League, and his time with Swansea City.
The Italian believes that Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham are the most impressive team in the league, due to their good mix of talent and physical ability, and he singled out N’Golo Kante as the player who impressed him most during his time with Swansea City.
When it came to picking out the Swans star who is best, Guidolin had no doubt, telling Guerin Sportivo magazine: “Gylfi Sigurdsson, Icelandic. I consider him a generous playmaker, with me he grew a lot, in the end he scored 11 league goals.”
Sigurdsson has continued being a crucial Swansea player under Bob Bradley and set up Mike van der Hoorn’s goal against Manchester United and Wayne Routledge’s against Stoke City. The goals couldn’t prevent Swansea losing both matches 3-1, but Gylfi Sigurdsson is a good footballer, not a miracle worker.
