Even though Felipe Anderson’s loan from West Ham to Porto was reported with a lot of excitement in Portugal, things don’t look good for the midfielder so far.
When making his debut for the Dragons last month, the Brazilian was pointed out as responsible for conceding a late equaliser to Sporting, and according to the local media, was criticised by manager Sérgio Conceição after the game.
Now as Porto played Marseille in the Champions League last night, Felipe Anderson wasn’t even picked up for the squad.
Local newspapers obviously cover his absence today, and the interesting thing is that they don’t take it as a big surprise.
Of course there’s still plenty of time for Felipe Anderson to turn things around, but he needs to do better than in his first couple of games for Porto.
His contract with West Ham runs until 2022.
