Brazilian side Santos deny having received a bid from Watford for the transfer of Lucas Veríssimo.
Interviewed by ESPN Brasil, club president José Carlos Peres claims the offer hasn’t arrived yet. Despite that, he makes it clear a move is completely possible.
“For me, this proposal has not yet arrived. If it arrives, we will analyse it with affection. I have the managing committee and we’ll discuss,” José Carlos Peres told ESPN Brasil (via Diário do Peixe).
“Everyone knows that we are negotiating 80%, 20% is from the defender. We need money, everybody knows.”
Watford’s bid for Veríssimo was reported by Globo Esporte last night. It’s claimed that the Hornets are offering €7.5m for the defender.
Outlet Diário do Peixe, who only cover Santos, reports that the Brazilian side would demand a little more for the player. They’d like a deal where they make €8m for the 80% they own.
However, since Santos are clearly in need of money, these numbers could go down a little as the talks go on.
