Watford and Middlesbrough scouts watched the same two matches in Portugal this weekend.
According to A Bola, the clubs sent emissaries to Paços Ferreira vs Nacional and Porto vs Arouca.
The first game had a very unusual attendance, as 25 different scouts were in the stands. The Portuguese press don’t seem to have a special reason for it, but made sure to say it’s a very uncommon fact.
The result was a 1-1 draw, with the man of the match being the midfielder Tiago Rodrigues, who scored Nacional’s goal. Striker Ricardo Valante equalised for the home team.
The other match is a bit more attractive in terms of transfer targets. Several Porto players, including Yacine Brahimi, André Silva and Héctor Herrera were all involved, and they’ve all been linked to Premier League clubs lately.
André Silva scored a brace, as Brahimi also made it to the scoresheet. Arouca defender Jubal was the only player from the away team who got some highlight from the local press.
But despite the links mentioned, which involves André Silva (Arsenal), Brahimi (Chelsea and Everton) and Herrera (Liverpool, Man United), neither Watford or Middlesbrough have been involved in transfer rumours alongside the clubs watched.
