Brazilian fullback Yan Couto continues to live a weird situation as he waits for his transfer to Manchester City.
Announced by the Premier League side earlier this year, the player was expected to complete the move this month.
The problem is that due to the Coronavirus pandemic, he can’t leave Brazil to join Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Recent reports have even claimed that he’d stay with Coritiba until his situation is sorted.
Now two updates make it clear he should no longer play for the Brazilian side. One of them comes from BR Contracts on Twitter, where they show that his club is rescinding his contract.
And when speaking to the local press on Thursday, Coritiba director Rorigo Pestana has claimed that the player is no longer featuring for the club (via Bem Paraná).
Manchester City reportedly paid €6m for the signing, and could spend €6m more depending on transfer bonuses.
Now the club wait until the Coronavirus situation gets better in Brazil so he can travel to England.
