It looks like the stories linking Manchester United to Sporting youngster Nuno Mendes won’t vanish so easily.
The Portuguese press recently revealed that there’s interest from the Red Devils, as he was offered to the club during the negotiations for Bruno Fernandes back in January.
As reported by A Bola today, Nuno Mendes has agreed a new deal with the Lions, and should soon sign a five-year contract with the club.
Still, it doesn’t mean Manchester United won’t sign him. The newspaper says the Premier League side have good references of the fullback, and could still make an attempt to get him in the summer.
Nuno Mendes is obviously a lot more protected now, since his new contract with Sporting includes a release clause of €45m, despite having only one appearance for the first team.
The youngster’s career is managed by agent Miguel Pinho, the same representative who takes care of Bruno Fernandes.
