Four clubs chasing Everton player whose ‘time has come’ to leave Toffees this summer

Maarten Stekelenburg’s contract at Everton is set to expire at the end of this month.

Earlier today, the goalkeeper told Voetbal International that his “time has come” to return to the Netherlands this summer.

Another newspaper Algemeen Dagblad state that Sparta Rotterdam are looking at the Dutchman.

Israeli keeper Ariel Harush has left the Eredivisie side, leaving them with Tim Coremans as the only recognised custodian. Therefore, they are looking for a new player in that position and have set their sights on Carlo Ancelotti’s man.

AD have been informed by sources close to the Rotterdam based club they are interested in Stekelenburg and the same has been communicated to him.

Sparta Rotterdam are not the only club chasing the Everton goalkeeper. Voetbal International journalist Chris Tempelman claims ADO Den Haag will keep an eye on Stekelenburg, who has already played under Martin Jol at Fulham.

In addition to this, Willem II and Heerenveen also seem to be interested in the Toffees player.

These two claims give an indication that Stekelenburg is still in demand, despite his age.
