NTV’s commentator Ali Ece has claimed Sevilla have made an official offer for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, which is worth €20m, and that Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing the player.
The two Premier League sides have been linked with the Turkey international in recent months, along with Liverpool.
Ece spoke at VOLE’s YouTube channel and reported Sevilla have made an official offer for the 24 year old, but he believes he could still head to the Premier League, with the likes of Leicester and Tottenham said to be still interested in his services: “The most serious offer came from Sevilla, which is €20m. I don’t know what Trabzonspor’s board think about the sale of him. But I also heard and confirmed that Leicester City and Tottenham are interested in signing him.”
He added with regards to Cakir’s future: “However, Leicester have Kasper Schmeichel. Tottenham are in the market for a goalkeeper, too, as they want to sign a promising goalkeeper to compete with Hugo Lloris. Apart from these clubs, Ajax are also looking to sign him, if Andre Onana leaves the club.”
The Turkish international has been in impressive form for his club this season, and his performances have caught the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs.
His displays have earned him a call up for his country and he’s expected to be Turkey’s No.1 in the coming years.
Cakir’s contract with Trabzonspor will expire at the end of June 2024.
