Real Zaragoza chief Lalo Arantegui has admitted that Aston Villa striker Borja Bastón is a player the club will look at this summer.
Bastón joined Aston Villa in January from Swansea City as manager Dean Smith looked to add extra firepower to his relegation-threatened side.
However, having only signed a short-term deal at Villa Park, he is set to become a free agent in the summer transfer window.
A report from Sport Aragon at the weekend indicated he already has his next move lined up, with former club Real Zaragoza having already offered him a four-year deal to make a return.
They were keen on him last summer but could not finance a deal as his €1.8m asking price was ‘unfeasible’ at the time.
However, he will be far more attainable as a free agent this summer, with the Aston Villa striker also keen to make a return to the club he once spent a year on loan with in 2014/15.
Zaragoza chief Lalo has now been questioned about a potential move and admitted he is a player they are looking at.
“Borja Bastón is very valued for what he did here and very appreciated by the fans,” he told La Jornada on Aragón TV, relayed by El Periódico de Aragón.
“He is a name worth more than his value on the market; we have to value him.
“It will depend on the necessities, to see to which players we can choose and to see with the manager if he is what we need or not.”
