Two days ago, El Periódico de Aragón explained Watford’s Luis Suárez has been identified as a target for Valencia, in the event one of their forwards ends up leaving the club.
The Colombian is currently on loan at Real Zaragoza and has impressed in the Segunda División this season, managing 17 goals and three assists in 29 appearances.
Super Deporte states the Hornets owned player is a bet of Los Ches head of scouting, Miguel Ángel Corona.
It’s claimed Corona knows the 22-year-old’s sporting situation first hand and has also collected a lot of positive reports. This convinced Valencia to monitor Suárez closely in the last few months.
Corona’s interest in the forward isn’t new. Prior to joining Valencia, he was the director of football at Almería and wanted to sign Suárez for his former club in 2019. However, the deal never materialised.
The South American’s explosion in Spain has led to a rise in his valuation. According to the report, Watford will now have to take a decision on whether to cash in from Suárez’s sale or offer him an extension.
In the winter market, several top flight clubs asked about the attacker, but Zaragoza, Suárez and Watford collectively decided against a transfer.
Super Deporte reckon the situation may be different in the summer and Valencia will be ‘attentive’ to Suárez.
Apart from Valencia, Atlético Madrid, Napoli, Lazio, Getafe and Real Betis are following the frontman.
