“Follow your heart”.
As we all know, that is the staple of advices, and it’s one Sami Khedira, currently at Juventus, could be thinking about doing very soon.
Dating Melanie Leupolz, who recently signed for Chelsea Women, the German midfielder is now being linked with a move to London, with West Ham the possible recipients.
That is, at least, what Calciomercato are suggesting, as they explain Khedira’s time in Turin is coming to on end.
Despite earning a starting spot in the early Maurizio Sarri days, the veteran missed most of the campaign with a knee injury, and his return home despite testing negative twice for Covid-19 ‘caused some tension’.
It’s said ‘his heart would take him to the Premier League’, and it’s West Ham, who aren’t blessed with many healthy and viable options in midfield these days, who could benefit, with them reportedly being ‘at the window’.
As for how this transfer would take place, there is talk in the article of an agreement being reached between Juventus and the player for an early termination of the contract, allowing a free transfer, but that’s not definite yet.
That’s pretty much all there is to it for now, but it would make sense, as the 33-year-old would still get a nice paycheque with the Hammers while playing at a competitive level all the while living with his girlfriend in London.
One to keep an eye on for the time being.
