Everton are willing to pay Ciro Immobile €8m a year to tempt him to leave Lazio this summer.
The Blues have been linked with the striker, who has 30 goals in 33 games this season, for several months with Carlo Ancelotti believed to be a big fan.
Citta Celeste confirm that is the case, explaining that Ancelotti wanted to sign him for Napoli and that interest has not gone away.
They state he’s ‘ready to get serious’ to sign the striker for Everton this summer and is even willing to use Moise Kean as part of the bargaining.
It’s stated that he can offer Immobile ‘a lot of money’ to tempt him into the move, namely €8m a year in wages, an offer they’ve already presented to him.
Lazio, though, ‘have no intention’ of selling their star man and the impression is that they will sit down with him in the summer to negotiate a new deal and keep him away from Everton.
The supposed interest from Goodison Park makes little sense when put under the microscope anyway.
Everton are not crying out for a striker, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison flourishing, nor would they be so happy to use Kean as a bargaining chip.
There’s also the matter of Immobile’s age, he’s already 30-years-old, and Everton’s focus is very much on younger signings, and his struggles outside of Italy with Borussia Dortmund too.
All of those are big, valid reasons why they wouldn’t be interested, with this more likely to be agents playing games to secure a more profitable contract for a player who’s in the form of his life.
