Italian outlet Sport Mediaset today has an update on the situation of manager Massimiliano Allegri, who’s reportedly being followed by several clubs in Europe.

Their story starts with the small chances he has to stay in Italy, where even though the likes of Juventus, Milan and Roma are interested in his services, they don’t seem so convinced of going for his signing now.

It’s said that the strongest interest actually comes from abroad, where Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain are said to be going head to head for the 52-year-old.

Sport Mediaset claims that the Red Devils have been chasing Allegri for some time, and won’t confirm Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanence at the club.

Meanwhile, the Italian boss is described as being ‘fascinated’ about an experience abroad, especially occupying Sir Alex Ferguson’s seat at Old Trafford.

Paris Saint Germain seem fine with Thomas Tuchel, but don’t hide their admiration for Allegri. That’s why their plans could have a big change in case the German manager doesn’t do well in the Champions League.

Despite interest from both clubs, Sport Mediaset says Manchester United are still in ‘pole position’ for the signing of Allegri.

On February 12th, Corriere della Sera made heavy hints over the manager moving to the Premier League: ‘Allegri already has a commitment with a great English team. He does not want to train until July while continuing to collect Juventus’ salary.’
