Newcastle United are reportedly close on missing out on the signing of Vincent Aboubakar from Porto.
Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã reports today that the Magpies are one of the clubs who have made bids for him, but he should actually be on his way to Catalonia.
The striker is said to be about to sign for Espanyol. He even missed Porto’s last game, with the La Liga side asking the Dragons this favour.
Newcastle and Brøndby are the other clubs who have their bids on the table, even though the amounts of each of them isn’t revealed.
Vincent Aboubakar used to be an important striker for Porto in the past, but things have changed a lot in the past couple of years.
He’s only made seven appearances for the club this season, having scored two goals.
Newcastle United haven’t even been linked to him lately, even though the Magpies often have scouts at Portuguese League games, including Porto’s.
